this is a simple blog posting done on the new Microsoft Windows Live Writer. I’m checking to see if it’s actually worth using. So far, so good. I’ll give it a few weeks to work out the kinks etc and update later.

Systems exist to find liquid explosives
While the process isn’t perfect, scanning machines do exist to detect liquid explosives like the ones purportedly at the heart of the terrorist plot broken up this week. This article is mostly on Rapiscan System. They were featured on one of the local (SF Bay Area) news last night too.
Apple iPhone coming sooner than expected?

Anti-Penny Bill Introduced… Again
Representative Jim Kolbe wants to do away with the penny and introduced the second bill to do so since 2001. The new bill calls for rounding down any cash transaction that ends in in 1,2,6 and 7 cents; totals ending in 3,4,8, or 9 cents would round up. Why can’t we do something that’s NOT stupid and make our pennies super cheap like a 1 yen coin?
British Court must watch Jerry Springer
A British “Court of Appeal” judge ordered a “Commercial Court” judge to watch samples Jerry Springer to settle a dispute between distributors and a company claiming the program became too strong for local tastes. I thought Jerry Springer was like watching Monte Python with “real” characters 🙂
